about
TYRA
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), I work with individuals, couples, and families struggling with personal and relationship issues. I am supportive, encouraging and compassionate and I try to create a safe and comfortable environment where we can work together to identify the issues and reasonable solutions.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Maryland University College and a Master of Science Degree in Marriage & Family Counseling Therapy from Capella University. I am also currently pursuing my PhD in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at Capella University.
I am also certified in the Prepare-Enrich Pre-Marital Assessment, which is the leading couple and marriage inventory nationally and internationally. This assessment is a thorough tool that helps couples explore and strengthen their relationships.
Some of my areas of special interest is helping couples in premarital counseling, couple and marriage related issues, infidelity, and gay and lesbian relationships. I also help those and have experience with those struggling with depression or anxiety, families coping with divorce, infidelity, domestic abuse, and individuals with self-esteem issues. To address many of these issues I utilize the Solution-Focused Therapy Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Therapy Method, Prepare-Enrich, and Trauma Focused Therapy.
Some of my personal interest are painting, bike riding, spending time with friends and family and eating! I love blue crabs and food in general! I love eating out and trying new restaurants. Yum!

MARSENIA
Associate Therapist
My name is Marsenia Smalls, and I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). I was born and raised in Prince George's County Maryland. I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health with a specialization in Marriage & Family therapy from the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
My ambition is to utilize my passion and knowledge to instill an impact on the clients I encounter. I am interested in seeing clients from age 16 and up with varying issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, PTSD, trauma, the LGBTQIA community, as well as working with couples who are experiencing challenges with communication, infidelity, conflict resolution and more.
A few interesting things about myself are that I enjoy creative expression through painting, drawing, writing poetry and a lot of DIY activities. Over the years I have learned that one of the biggest obstacles we face sometimes is ourselves.
My hours are:
